DISMISSAL PROCEDURE Beginning Friday, February 1st, the following dismissal procedure will be strictly adhered. DEFINITIONS: Walker = a child who walks all the way home and does not board a vehicle on school property. Walkers who live in the general area of N. Elm and Hartshorn Rd. may leave through the front door. Walkers who live in the Crescent St. area may continue to use the back door. Parent Pickup = a child who is picked up by car (regardless of whether or not he or she lives within walking distance). Even a parent who wants to avoid the pickup line and gets a parking spot in the front must still go to the back door to meet their child. Please do not park in areas not designated as parking spots, as that creates a difficult and dangerous traffic pattern for buses. Bus Students: a child who rides the bus home and boards through the front door. In order to dismiss 288 children safely and efficiently, these rules will be followed consistently. If further consideration is needed, please make an appointment to speak with me. If your child rides the bus and is on occasion to be a “parent pick up”, please write a note and they will meet you at the back door. Children will not be allowed to leave through the front door unless they are, as defined above, a “Walker.” Once the child WALKS outside the building the child should NOT be boarding a vehicle. They should be WALKING home.Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. |
