MacDonald School Health Office
Mrs. Lynn Moniz

Good health is a vital component of every child's school experience.  Health is not just the absence of disease or physical illness.  Health incorporates all aspects of wellness: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and social.  In the West Bridgewater Public Schools, we are able to provide short term health care and support to our students and staff.  We provide information to students and parents regarding general health, immunization requirements and information about specific health concerns.  The health office also conducts routine screenings throughout the year.

Vision and Hearing Screening

The purpose of vision and hearing screening is to identify children who may have visual and or hearing impairments.  Impairment in either of these areas may prevent a child from obtaining full benefit from their educational opportunities.  Vision and hearing problems often go unnoticed because the defects are so subtle.  Without specific screening tests, a problem may not be found until the student develops significant educational or medical problems.  Vision and hearing screening enables us to detect unrecognized conditions as early as possible in order to obtain prompt treatment and resolution to any problems.

The MacDonald School offers screening in the fall for every student.  This is not a diagnostic service, but does provide screening.  Should a problem be detected you will be notified and a recommendation will be made to see your own doctor.  For any questions please feel free to call (508) 894-1240 ext. 231.
